Us Go Congress 2018
Registration for the 2018 US Go Congress has officially been launched. "Everyone has a lot of questions in planning for the summer, and we've got answers for (some of those) questions," says Congress Co-Director Nate Eagle. Go Congress is the largest annual Go event in the United States, first held in 1985 and now into its 35th consecutive year.
It is organized by the American Go Association in conjunction with one or more local clubs, and is a week-long tournament and learning opportunity for Go players. While there, he had a chance to interview some of the participants, including Tournament Co-Director Nate Eagle, the Masters Tournament Director Josh Lee, well-known teacher and author Yuan Zhou, and US Professional Go player Andy Liu. We heard concerns that Go Congress was too close to the beginning of the school year. Several people wanted to avoid any overlap with the European Go Congress so that they could attend both.
