Everyones in denial how bad Xbox controllers have been for years now. The 360 pad was the last half way decent one. The competition has gotten so much better while also having built in rechargeable batteries.

My fifth one has been super solid for almost a year now. I love the controller but it probably wouldn't be worth the hassle of warranties from Microsoft and the added downtime.

The Xbox One controller is way better than both the Dualshock 4 and the Xbox 360 controller. There's a wider range of movement on the sticks and the tilted triggers are way more ergonomic. I have seen people complaining on the Xbox Subs about quality issues with both Scuf and Elite Series controllers, (I mention those 2 bc they are both so expensive) but the controllers that have more quality issues and complaints than any other are the Xbox Elite Series 1 & 2 controllers.

The controllers FELL good and are awesome when they work, but the short warranty makes buying the extended one feel 100% necessary. That added cost, plus the price hike from Elite 1 to Elite 2, isn't the best. Over the last year and a half, I've had 3 Xbox controllers break on me.

2 have joystick drift issues, and the left bumper on my other one, the elite controller, is loose. The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 (or Elite 2 for short) has arguably been the industry gold standard for a pro-level game controller for the past decade. I'm in the market for a new controller for my PC.

I prefer the Xbox controller over Sony's. I kinda want to buy an elite but I have heard horror stories over the years. Are they still faulty or did MS fix the issues? Same issues that plagued them before plague them today.

Unfortunately, yes. The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller is Microsoft's 'pro' Xbox One and Windows 10 gamepad. It's sleeker and smarter than its pack-in brethren, but it's not cheap.
