The hybrid motor puts out some amazing power. That would definitely be worth the wait. Great part is that it is already in the Tacoma so it won't be new by the time the 6th gen 4runner is released.

For this review, we just tested the 4Runner with its i-Force Max hybrid powertrain - and learned that while this is no fuel-sipper, it still has a lot going for it.
