Does anybody have electric underfloor heating? Is it worth it, compared to other forms of heating? I'm going to be putting new tile floors in a couple rooms in my house. These rooms are notoriously cold despite having a few heating ducts ran to them because they are in and old addition of the house with just a crawlspace under them. Experience with electric underfloor heating in bathroom? Been toying with the idea of some electric underfloor heating in the bathroom.

No wet system in the room, just an electric towel warmer. Currently have tiles down. Wondering what the process would be? Can I just lift the tiles, lay the underfloor heating down and then just relay the tiles?

I installed Warmly Yours brand electric heating mat in our master bathroom several years ago under tile when renovating and love it. Our house is slab on grade and it makes the floor nice to stand on. Do the electric underfloor heating mats also work with timers as I only plan for it to come on for 30.

Partner and I have done walls and floors in two different rooms before doing the bathroom, considered ourselves reasonable at it, so then attempted the under floor heating. Under tiles, we were recommended by multiple trades, that you set the temp and dont turn it off, otherwise the mortar bed and tiles grout lines will crack due to constant thermal expansion. The underfloor heating does not heat the bathroom at the floor temps that we have tried, 18 deg and 20 deg, but does make it nice to walk on in bare feet.
