First, we really dont know how far THW is from New Berk but I assume it's pretty far, so how could the Night Lights fly that far without Toothless/the lightfury noticing and for that great of a distance if it took them a few days as the short implies? AND THEN Toothless and the light fury immediately know that they went to New Berk. Once thought of as the "unholy offspring of lightning and death itself," Toothless (20 in dragon years) has proven to be much more of a giant, winged pussycat than the stuff of nightmares.
