Now that your skin is prepared, it's time to start your Gua Sha routine. Remember, the key is to use a light, gentle touch. The tool should glide across your skin, not dig into it.

Hold the Gua Sha tool flat against your skin. Using the edge of the tool, apply gentle pressure and scrape across the skin in long, upward strokes. Always move towards the body's energy meridians, following the facial muscle lines.

Face and Neck

Start at the base of your neck. Using the edge of the tool, scrape upwards towards your jawline. Repeat this motion along your jawline, moving upwards towards your ears.

Move to the front of your neck. Hold the tool flat against your skin and scrape upwards towards your chin, following the muscle lines. Then, using the curve of the tool (if using a kidney-shaped tool), scrape upwards towards your ear along your cheekbones.

Forehead and Eyes

Place the tool at the midpoint of your forehead. Scrape upwards towards your hairline. Repeat this motion, moving across your forehead in a rowing motion.

Gently place the tool at the inner corner of your eye. Scrape outwards towards your temple, following the upper cheekbone. Be cautious and gentle around the delicate eye area.

As you complete each stroke, wipe away any excess oil from your skin to avoid dragging the tool.

Chest and Back

Hands and Feet

While the face is typically the focus of Gua Sha, you can also perform the technique on your chest, back, hands, and feet. Use the same gentle, upward strokes, moving towards the respective energy meridians.

Post-Gua Sha Care

After your Gua Sha routine, your skin may be slightly red or might show some "sha" - little red dots. These are signs of increased blood flow and are entirely normal.

Wash your Gua Sha tool thoroughly with warm, soapy water and pat it dry. Store your tool in a clean, dry place for next time.

Moisturize your skin. Apply your favorite moisturizer, serum, or facial oil while your skin is still damp to lock in hydration.

Gua Sha is not a one-time solution. Like any self-care practice, Gua Sha works best when it's integrated into your regular routine. You can perform Gua Sha once a week for maintenance or as needed to help relieve any tension or discomfort.

Embrace the ancient art of Gua Sha and enjoy the relaxation and rejuvenation it brings. Remember, it's a journey, so be patient with yourself and enjoy the process. Happy Gua Sha-ing!
