The Deckchair Cinema closes for the wet season, open annually from around April to November. The Deckchair Cinema is a majestic open air cinema situated on the gorgeous Darwin Harbour. The cinema operates seven nights a week from mid April to mid November, screening a diverse range of Australian, foreign, popular, classic and family friendly films.

The Deckchair Cinema is THE outdoor cinema on Darwin's Waterfront. We are a fully indepedent movie theatre operated by the Darwin Film Society, established in 1954, to give Darwin audiences unseen movies on the big screen. The Deckchair Cinema is located on Darwin's Waterfront (Jervois Road), and is open 7 nights a week from mid April to mid November.

Boasting a magnificent view over Darwin Harbour. The Deckchair Cinema is open nightly during the dry winter season between late-April and mid-November. As its name implies, seating in this open air cinema in on 250 deck chairs, and it also has 100 straight-back chairs.
