Bmw Halo Lights Turning Yellow

LED DRL Turned Yellow?

Greetings, I own a 2017 G30 with adaptive LED headlights. Right side inner daytime running light lights in a yellowish color as seen in the photo. It lights in the correct color (white) when headlights are on. But when only in DRL mode these lights dims a bit and this faulty one turns into.

So after some research I found out this yellowing problem can be fixed without replacing the whole headlight unit and instead just replacing the LED.

Deaier wanted $1200 with new parts. Yellow Halo: The headlight controller is either dirty on the specific LED and can be gently scraped clean. But a used controller is $350 and a 15 minute install but the dealer wants $1800 for the part and's $3500 total. I'm gonna start doing the work when the tail light led controller arrives.

Here is the effect of the new bulb on the DRL setting of the halo lights. When on sidelight setting the halo lights dim noticeably, the inner brighter light dims down roughly to that of the outer light in DRL mode.
