Queen's Bath used to be called Keanalele and known for a mound with the most concentrated complex petroglyphs in Hawai'i. About half a kilometer into the hike you'll come across a flooded lava tube known as the Queen's Bath (Route marker #2 on the map).

The lava tube is usually full of fresh water so it's a great place for a refreshing swim. Love those different rock colors surrounding the pool. The name Queens Bath came from it's use by Queen Emma who was queen consort to King Kamehameha IV in the mid 1800s.

She used it as a place to relax. The original bath was actually located on the Big Island at Kalapana, until it was destroyed by a volcanic eruption, so the bath was moved here. Kiholo State Park Reserve has black sand beaches, turquoise water, and great hiking. We hiked to three different black sand beaches, hiked to the Queen's Bath, and hiked to Kiholo Bay/Wainanalii Pond. We spent about 4.5 hours to do all of this.
