hey kathy, it actually depends on the year: the 740 was carried from 1995-2001 with the v8 740iL and the v12 750iL. from 2002-2005 bmw had the v8 745Li and the v12 760Li; and from 2006-present bmw has the 750Li and the 760Li. basically, you can tell which body style the vehicle is by seeing if it is LI or IL; IL being the older one. hope this.
