- CGNAT address ranges from 100.64.0.0 to 100.127.255.255, which looks like public IP address but actually not, therefore, it will also cause you unable to use the OpenVPN or port forwarding and affect the NAT Type. You could contact the ISP and ask them to offer a Public IP address. Step 5: Check the IP setting on the client. Some devices need to set static IP on the Internet setting. So the correct IP setting is necessary. The IP should be the same subnet as the router, and the gateway on the clients setting should be the routers LAN IP address.
- Guys just tried port forwarding and everything work like a charm. The key is that you can't reach public ip and forwarded port from the network itself. You need to setup it and check it via other network e.g. your phone with mobile internet (not the same as in router) and it works.
Before configuring port forwarding, we recommend reserving a static IP address for the GL.iNet router on your primary router. This ensures the GL.iNet router is always assigned a fixed IP address. Otherwise, if the primary router or GL.iNet router restarts, the primary router may assign a new IP address to the GL.iNet router, causing the port forwarding rule to fail.
