I dont know of many options approaching pancake thickness for the Fujifilm X-Series other than the aforementioned (manual focus) TTartisan 25mm f2, the Fujifilm and TTartisan 27mm f2.8s and the Fujifilm 18mm f2. Looking at other threads asking for pancake lense - the lenses suggested like the samyang 24/35 are pretty much the same size as the kit lense when retracted so no good. From my research it seems the 20mm 2.8 sony is really the only one that satisfies my needs. Ofc there is the 16mm too but that gets a bad rep. Any others that you guys can suggest?
VR headset evolved from fresnel to pancake lenses. I am wondering why didnt the manufacturers go to pancakes directly in the first generation headset. Is it cost? Or some other technical limitation?
