Hello all, I had a positive experience in fixing this issue myself with OEM parts and $0 labor costs, so I'm posting here in the hopes it may help somebody else. I use my Shiftronic/sport mode a lot. I live in a mountainous area with lots of curves and hills.

When I put it in shiftronic mode - sometimes the display changes from D to blank, sometimes to D1, sometimes to 1. No matter what it displays it still keeps working as if it's in Auto. Shifting up or down does.
