One of my favorite Disney movies so far is Pixar's newest production, "Inside Out." The movie was very interesting in how it explained the way we perceive emotions, thoughts and memories in our brains. What I found interesting in the film was the way they used color to show emotions, both inside Riley's head and in her own life. The first thing to note about the film is that there are five.

Inside Out 2 production designer Jason Deamer has opened up about the look and color of the movie's new emotions, explaining how they reflect their purpose in the film. The upcoming sequel to Pixar's 2015 film sees Riley growing into a teenager, resulting in a variety of new, negative emotions appearing in her brain. Color plays a pivotal role in our perception of emotions.

In the world of "Inside Out," each emotion is personified by a different color: Joy is yellow, Sadness is blue, Fear is purple (but we'll clarify this later), Anger is red, and Disgust is green. A journey through the meaning of colors and their representation based on the characters of the animated film Inside Out 2 by Pixar. New Colors in Inside Out 2: A Breakdown Inside Out 2 introduces us to five new emotions, each with its unique color and personality.

These new emotions are Joy's sister, Bing Bong, who is a blue emotion; Riley's imaginary friend, Imagination, who is a purple emotion; and three new emotions that are part of the "Riley's emotions" team: Disgust's sister, Dina, who is a green emotion. Perhaps the animators felt this way about colors too, resulting in the appropriate color combinations we know: yellow for Joy, red for Anger, blue for Sadness, green for Disgust, and purple for Fear. Take note that the use of colors can be very powerful, since the connotations of these colors may help speed up the way we think and feel.
