In 2021, Bonhams offered the black BMW, with interesting information such as 'is offered from nearly 30-year custodianship', but also: 'On close inspection today, lovely silver blue metallic paint can be found underneath the dash area, which quite possibly would have been the color the car was finished in from new'. Under Weiss's ownership, the BMW was the subject of a meticulous restoration to its original factory appearance in the timeless exterior color of Papyros white, neatly contrasted by a highly desirable dark blue optional factory hard top and matching dark blue leather interior. A beautifully restored 1959 BMW 507 has just popped up for sale on Bring-a-Trailer, giving car collectors a rare chance to bid on one of the most beautiful classic BMWs ever made.

The 507 has left an indelible mark in automotive history, and after being ignored for decades, the 507 has now ascended to collector car royalty. Given that only 252 examples were produced (11 with removable hardtops), with even fewer in original condition, BMW 507s command anywhere between $2-$5 million. 507 Series I Originally finished in Papyros White.

In the course of the restoration, the colour scheme was changed from dark silver to the original 507 colour 'Federweiss' (white) with a dark blue leather interior and matching soft-top as requested by the current owner. The engine, completely rebuilt at that time, is believed to produce 160hp.
