Bmw E46 Blue

My E46 330ci is an 04 and also has Mystic Blue. It's a great colour and in the right light it kind of has this purple tinge to it. The company's marketers realized they needed a vibrant color that would highlight the sleek new 3 Series coupe launched in 1975. But blue wasn't BMW's first choice. Mystic Blue is a BMW paint that first appeared on the E Series cars, most notably on the E46 where it was introduced on the standard paint range for the second half of production, effectively replacing the slighter lighter shade of Topaz Blue.

We've also seen it feature on the E60 and E90 but less frequently. The deep, rich blue color perfectly accentuates the beefed up and aggressive lines of the iconic E46 M3. This BMW M3 is a Time Attack vehicle, meaning it has been specially customized/tuned for.

(Visiting from the E30 board) Does anyone out there have an E46 in Orient Blue Metallic? I'm planning to repaint my car because in some light the factory Royalblau Metallic takes on a nasty purple cast. Is Orient Blue a safe bet, or does it suffer from the same problem? TIA! The two colors look the same to me with the naked eye, yet they were offered as different exterior color options for the e46 in the same year. Check out this link. It might be my crappy computer screen at work, but don't the blues look indentical.

Paint Colours of all E46 circa 2003-ish Can someone provide me the colour sample website of for the e46s? Is there ever a light blue 3-series before? I only know of th Orient blue which is dark blue. thanks!
