Bmw E60 Error Code A830

My scantool shows the A830 error, and indicates a gear selector issue. I'm assuming that I need to replace the gear selector, however, the one installed is 61319213651, which realoem says applies to models no earlier than 3/1/2009 Looking up the part using my VIN, it seems that 61319212217 is the correct part. Questions.

Being a 2009, i presume its an E60, in which case was the new battery correctly coded to the car? Clear the codes, drive it a bit, and see what comes back.
