Bmw E60 Ground Strap

Front ground strap replacement (BMW strap after O'Reilly strap didn't change, but still no change after using the BMW $53 strap. Will use O'Reilly strap on back ground today). A quick info video about a ground strap replacement.Yes, it brought me home with a jump cable under the bonnet.

Does anyone know where the grounding strap connects that runs from the passenger side strut tower inside the engine compartment? I noticed mine isn't connected to anything? During a prior service it appears to have not been reconnected. The car is a 2006 530i. I can't find an obvious spot.

These the Ground point for the E60. BMW is different than other manufacturers setting up the ground for the engine. There is no direct engine to chassis ground.

Point 19 is the main earth ground and and used to ground the engine to the chassis, on the M5 point 19 is on the passenger side behind the right engine mount. In the upper picture is the main ground point (braided strap) for the DME. BMW uses braided-style ground straps over solid ground straps to allow movement between the engine and chassis and to eliminate the transfer of engine noise to the cabin of the vehicle.

Think about it, the only way an engine sitting on rubber mounts can be earthed (grounded) is through ground straps or cables.
