The BMW 507's broader history: At the recommendation of New York-based luxury European car dealer and importer Max Hoffman, BMW hired industrial designer Albrecht von Goertz to design a sports car. In 1953 he settled in New York as an independent designer, founding Goertz Industrial Design Inc.

At the request of the BMW importer for the United States, he presented his design proposals for a sports roadster to the company's management, sketches that were approved and gave life to two legendary cars, the BMW 503 and the BMW 507. The BMW 507 Roadster was designed by Count Albrecht Goertz, a young German designer then living in New York and later responsible for another beautiful car, the Datsun 240 Z. The BMW 507, already a legend in automotive history, gains an extra layer of allure with a select few adorned with unique coachwork, notably the example crafted by Raymond Loewy.

Renowned for his futuristic design style, Loewy collaborated with Albrecht Graf von Goertz, designer of the production 507, to create this extraordinary variant. Revealed at the 1957 Paris Auto Salon, Loewy's concept. The BMW 507 remains a pinnacle of automotive design and engineering, celebrated for its blend of performance, luxury, and rarity.
