Hyundai Dct Oil Change

How much transmission oil is required for the fluid change on the DCT? Thought I read 2 quarts! Also i think when changing out my engine oil I saw where the drain and fill plugs are for the DCT but could someone please post some pics! Looked like big black plugs. Drain then fill till fluid comes out of fill hole? It's a Hyundai transmission oil drain gasket 21513-11000 that you can find on a search engine.

Torque drain plug to 43-57 ft lb. per manual. Fill with Redline MT-85 or Amsoil manual transmission & transaxle gear lube 75w90.

Or the choice you want. Takes 2 quarts, fill until it runs out of fill hole with the car being level. In a high stress environment we change the DCT fluid every 10k, for street cars every 100k for most and in a few vehicles every 40k which is the Hyundai recommendation.

I will change my DCT and gear oil at 40k. Summary: I did it while the vehicle is on a lift to keep level for fluid level consistency. Tools needed as follows: 24mm think wall deep socket for many drain and fill plugs 17mm socket just for DCT gear oil fill plug a hex socket (size unknown) for transfer case fill plug swivel socket.

Draining fluid and filling up 1 container, other jug fill with fresh oil to the level of used fluid.

Will take about 3.5 quarts, mark the fill plug position to the transmission casing. The way you can shift and vary the engagement speed of the Hyundai DCT is reminiscent of the adjustability the SMG had. BMW used a button to adjust it where Hyundai is a more passive system.
