Built by community theatre pioneer Consuelo de Reyes and her husband in 1935, the Little Theatre has remained in the same family since, retaining some of the decorative features of a typical 1930's cinema while more recently undergoing a discreet conversion into a two. The Little Theatre cinema opened in 1935, and was long owned by the family of the founders, Consuelo de Reyes and her stage designer husband Peter King, until it joined the PictureHouse chain. The cinema is reputed to be built on catacombs.

It featured in the Wes Anderson film Fantastic Mr Fox. The Little Theatre brings you a range of movies from indie art house to mainstream films on a not-so-large screen, while you relax in a big comfy chair. Inside there is a tiny confectionary stand that serves alcohol, coffees, teas and softdrinks as well as pop corn, chocolate and crisps.

The Little Theatre Cinema was built by community theatre pioneer Consuelo de Reyes and her husband in 1935. It initially functioned as a news theatre open from midday and showing hourly programmes of documentaries and newsreels. Feature films were first shown in 1939, the first two being "Peg of Old Drury" starring Anna Neagle followed by "Oh Mr Porter" starring Will Hay.
