My supplier advised there is a product that is effectively a waterproof tongue and groove system but they no longer sell them because of problems at the joints, unsurprising water ingress. Both aqua panels and tiles will need a silicone sealant which is subject to mould of course.

Panels are a lot more expensive, but were up on the wall together with the shower and screen in one day, tiling the shower would take me around 3 to 4 days to complete, add a day for the shower and screen fitting.
