New Bathroom How Long Without Toilet Mumsnet

We're having our (only) bathroom totally ripped out and everything new put in. Plumber said 12 days in all for the job - I assume this is working days so might be looking at more than a fortnight. Because of the work that needs doing we will only have a working toilet in there for that time. I'm really looking forward to the new bathroom but the logistics are keeping me awake at night.

Price includes toilet, vanity sink, bath with shower over and screen, tiling, new radiator, installing our own accessories, new flooring and he said if he finishes early, he'll start the paining for us (which we were going to do).

And I will never have a bathroom without underfloor heating ever again. I also bought a cabinet with a sensor light, which is great for middle.

If your house has just the one bathroom then it's natural you'll be concerned about just how you're going to cope if you're planning a bathroom renovation. How long will you be without a working toilet? When will you next be able to have a shower?

We only have the one bathroom/toilet but that's not too unusual and the plumber was used to managing those situations. We had running water most of the time and a functioning toilet by the end of every day.

Our local council do bathroom refurbishment for their homes and no household will ever be left without a useable toilet. Don't see how b&q can't work to the same standard.

2021 my bathroom was done for £5k, Bath, electric shower added and plumbed in, and a new towels rail, toilet and sink vanity combo, paneling on room and ceiling, laminate on floor so it's quite wet roomesque but that's fine and quick to clean.

Installation includes a toilet, vanity/sink unit, bath, shower over bath (runs off boiler, not electric), tiling around three sides of bath and slightly over, bathroom flooring, touching up a ceiling crack and fitting of shelving/wall bathroom cabinet which we will provide.
