Initially I wanted something with size, comfort, and technology. Hyundai doesn't have the reliability ratings of Toyota or Honda, so the offer the better warranty and load the car up with all sorts of technology. Zero comparison on ride and road noise. Google Hyundai Tucson fuel injector. We had a 2022 that was solid for 20,000 miles then left us stranded 2 hours from home with a failed fuel injector.
Upon learning this I looked it up and there is a rampant problem with fuel injectors on the Tucson. They'll replace them under warranty, but that doesn't help when it breaks down. Hyundai certainly doesn't have as long of a history as Toyota or Honda in the West.
US insurance companies have been dropping 2005 to 2021 models of Hyundai and Kia due to not enough of them having engine immobilizer.
