We have a leak somewhere in our bathroom, as made apparent from our downstairs neighbour (we are in a block of flats). We figure it is an opportunity to redo the whole floor with 'microcement'. The only problem we've had is with some water sitting under a porcelain soap dish, which then stained the microcement. The supplier said the sealer is designed to prevent water from soaking in for about a day, so as the water had soaked into the porcelain dish it then was wet permanently underneath. I did almost my entire bathroom with Tadelakt and it has the same outward appearance and was pretty easy to install.

We could of course try to take the tiles off and redo the walls but I think that would be both messy and expensive option and have come across microcement which for.
