Donkey Kong Gb Color Hack

This hack modifies and improves color palettes in Donkey Kong GB: Dinky Kong & Dixie Kong. This is the Japanese version of Donkey Kong Land III, and is the only one for the Game Boy Color. Files for Game Boy, Game Boy Color hacks and translations.

135 votes, 28 comments. I've decided to archive the colorized Gameboy hacks and upload them onto the internet archive. The only colour hack I'm not fan of is Wario Land because it "looks weird" compared to the brighter Mario Land 1&2.

Kirby's Dream Land 2 DX is literally one of the most waited DX romhack next to Donkey Kong. Kirby's Dream Land 1 deserved these colours since the franchise is popular for its whimsical environments (more than Mario imo). Download Donkey Kong GB.

Donkey Kong Land DX The original DKL was notorious for looking a bit messy on the Game Boy. All those pre-rendered graphics using just four shades looked a bit messy and it was generally hard to make things out. Nothing a spot of color can't fix, of course, and once again we have a fantastic new way to play this game.

I've been meaning to do this for quite some time now, and here is a color palette hack for the Game Boy Color version of Donkey Kong Land 3 (or Donkey Kong GB: Dinky Kong & Dixie Kong as the GBC version is called). Even though the Japanese version (the only GBC version out there) was a big improvement over the original version, and at times looks better than the GBA DKC games, there were some. It also includes some new features: A Time Attack mode, level names from the manual displayed in the corner of the screen on the overworld, unused music restored, and quality of life updates: an icon now appears in the bottom right of the screen when you have a Kong in reserve, and you can change your Kong's.
