Feb 14, 2020, 10:21 am I am looking for a spooky pop up castle/haunted house book from my childhood that I have not found one picture or mention of in dozens of hours of searching online over the past 20 years. I received this book as a present from my mother some time in the mid to late 80's or early 90's. Jan Michel Pieńkowski is a Polish-born British illustrator and author of children's books.
He is probably best known for his Meg and Mog books with writer Helen Nicoll and for his pop-up books, including Haunted House (winner of the 1980 Kate Greenaway Medal), Robot, Dinner Time, Good Night and seventeen others. This is a fantastic vintage 1980s pop up book (this version is the 1982 edition) I have a copy of this myself, and it's just fantastic! Illustrated by the fab Jan Pienkowski (Meg and Mog fame) called Haunted House Great condition, one page (the purple ghost curtain) needs some fixing, but you can get between the pages to do this, just beyond me. The Haunted House comes alive this Halloween with this seriously spooky pop-up book!
