More hp/tq, standard M package I believe, costs more, 335is has the N54 vs the N55 engine on the 335i. If you want the top performing non-M 3 series, that is the one. The 335is gets worse mpg because it has the n54 engine which is less effecient than the n55 the lci (e92/e93) 335i comes with.

As far as i know, the 335is is pretty much a facelift e92 335i but with the non facelift n54 twin turbo engine.
