Cross Utp Color Coding

Straight and crossover cable color code UTP has 4 twisted pairs of wires, we'll now look at the pairs to see what colour codes they have: As you can see in the picture above, the 4 pairs are labeled. Pairs 2 & 3 are used for normal 10/100Mbit networks, while Pairs 1 & 4 are reserved. In Gigabit Ethernet, all 4 pairs are used.

Why to Use different oF crossover cable color coding As in UTP, there are eight wires twisted together in four pairs. In UTP cable consist of 4pair or 8 wire of different color that is used to terminate on RJ45 or 8P8C connector. By looking at a T-568A UTP Ethernet straight-thru cable and an Ethernet crossover cable with a T-568B end, we see that the TX (transmitter) pins are connected to the corresponding RX (receiver) pins, plus to plus and minus to minus. Cross-Over Wiring Using The 568A to 586B Standards The flat wiring illustration, above, shows cross-over cable wiring using the 568A color code standard as the wiring for the PC side of things and the 568B standard for wiring to the other PC.

Note that in both cases, all eight wires are shown but only four are actually needed.
