The Final Curing Phase

Once your pile has cooled down and decomposed into a dark, earthy-smelling substance, it is ready. However, the process of how to make dirt doesn't truly end until you allow the final mixture to rest. This curing phase is vital for stabilizing the nutrients and ensuring that the microbial colony is balanced. Spread the finished compost over your garden beds, mix it into existing soil, or use it to pot plants. The result will be a dark, crumbly, and life-filled medium that looks nothing like the raw ingredients you started with.
