Jonah and the Whale: A Brief Story Recap
Jonah, a prophet from the Israelite city of Gath-hepher, was tasked by God to prophesy against the wicked city of Nineveh. However, Jonah disobeyed and boarded a ship sailing in the opposite direction. A mighty storm ensued, and Jonah, realizing he was the cause, asked to be thrown overboard. A large whale swallowed him, and Jonah spent three days and three nights in its belly before being spit out onto the shore. After this miraculous deliverance, Jonah finally obeyed God and went to Nineveh, where his prophecy led to the city's repentance and salvation.
