I know how to build an Arcade and Dancing area but they take so much power that my powering room is struggling. When my dupes learn new things they take 18 morale for building, digging, athletics and having an extra morale room makes me take the suit. If you can supply the morale requirements for your duplicants by means that don't take up extra time (room bonus, decor, food), then none of the recreation buildings is worth using (showers included).

Build the Water Cooler, it's the easiest to build and maintain recreational building. From the Gamepedia page: The Water Cooler serves as a "Recreational" object needed to create the Recreation Room as well as a gathering spot for Duplicants during break time. The main effect of a rec room is that dupes will congregate there when not doing anything else as well as when on down time.
You can use it to always have dupes near a work location, or to make them go through a park, or just to make them socialize more (which reduces stress a little). Rooms offer a variety of bonuses, but most rooms will provide a buff to Duplicant morale. A room can only be one type, if a room meets the requirements of multiple types of room simultaneously then it will be treated as a "miscellaneous room" with no bonus until it is specialized as a single type.
