Hyundai Rotem has delivered the first of 46 light rail vehicles (LRVs) ordered for the Valley Line West project in Edmonton, Canada. The seven-section low-floor tram, which arrived on 1 August 2025, is part of a 158 million Canadian dollar contract signed in 2021 and marks the South Korean company's entry into the North American tram market. Shipped in two sections from Hyundai Rotem Company's facility in Changwon, South Korea, the vehicle underwent extensive testing before being loaded on July 1 onto a roll-on/roll. The LRVs will be put into service on Edmonton 's 14 km, C$2 6bn Valley Line West project. This is the second phase of a 27 km cross.
