One Piece Colored Vs Black And White Reddit

The colored definitely looks better in mostly all the cases but sadly the digital colored volumes/chapters don't have the sbs pages which is at the end of each chapter where Oda answers fan questions and theories and more detailed information on manga. For them ig you should read the one piece wiki after catching up but for now color would be the best way to go Dec 23, 2021 9:47 AM # 4 removed.

Kinda surprised that people actually picks black and white lol. Anyway, it depends. If the colorings is just "fanart" coloring (like what OPScans did for chapter 1081 where they colored the whole chapter itself) then I wouldn't really like it as some of the panels got ruined due to bad coloring mixed.

One Piece colored manga is a digitally colored version of the original black and white manga by Eiichiro Oda. It follows the same story and art style as the original, but with added colors that enhance the visual appeal and readability of the manga.

Digitally Colored Manga Starting in June 2012, Shueisha began to release digitally colored volumes of the One Piece manga. The volumes are available to purchase alongside the traditional black and white volumes in Shueisha's own Jump Store app for iOS and Android, as well as other digital outlets such as Amazon's Kindle Store.

As someone who's reading background included more western comics, I almost almost prefer color to black and white. Somewhat easier to see what's happening, and color adds another dimension to the art imo that shading does not always achieve. Don't get me wrong there is good shading but the colored versions simply look better to me.

For one piece, oda jam packs a bunch of stuff in there but still manages to make it coherent and readable so I never have an issue with it. A manga like jojos on the other hand is virtually impossible to read black and white because it's cluttered and doesn't know how to handle it.

I think reading colored manga first is better. Quality of black'n'white One Piece scans before Oda switched to digital drawing is pretty ish IMO. Colored version fixes it. However, since Oda switched to digital, black'n'white version is better IMO. It has all the details and amazing original Oda drawings.

Reading Wano with colored panels is a far better experience than the b/w panels with the way Oda's art style changed recently. In general the colored panels are obviously better but in Wano especially I've found it to be a night & day difference.

The full colored editions are super nice, I love how big they are and the paper quality is really nice, but I think the digital coloring, well obviously understandable, is kinda ugly, and I'd rather just read it in black and white.
