National Library Week Events

National Library Week is an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries and library professionals play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities. Celebrate National Library Week: April 6 - 12, 2025: Events NLW 2025 Celebration Days During National Library Week National Library Week 2025 will be celebrated Sunday, April 6 through Saturday, April 12. Days of note during that week are: Monday, April 7: Right to Read Day is a National Day of Action in support of the freedom to read. National Library Week, from April 19 to 25, allows us to promote our local libraries and their workers.

The first National Library Week was observed in 1958 with the theme "Wake Up and Read!" The 2025 celebration marks the 67th anniversary of the first event.
