First-Year Plan Highlights Each First-Year Dining Plan includes*: Flexible Meal Options 15 or 19 meals per week, which can be redeemed at John Jay Dining Hall, Ferris Booth Commons, JJ's Place, Chef Mike's Sub Shop, Chef Don's Pizza Pi, or Faculty House. This allows you access to our Kosher To-Go counter within John Jay Dining Hall that serves a full array of cold Kosher items (entrees, side dishes and vegetables served daily). First-Year Columbia Columbia and Engineering students are required to have a dining plan. Plans are optional for upperclass Columbia College or Engineering students, as well as General Studies, or Columbia University or Teachers College graduate students.

Dining Plan enrollment is a contract for one academic year. Once a student enrolls in a plan, they may elect to change their plan option. Dining Plans There are 3 sets of dining plans available to Columbia University students.

The first is available to first-year students only,specifically designed to encourage community building among newstudents. All first-years are required to enroll in one of two diningplans, each of which are comprised of a varying number of meals, servedin John Jay Dining Hall, Ferris Booth Commons, or JJ. Graduate Dining Plan Options AY 25-26 These plans are available only to Graduate Students.

Upperclassmen at Columbia have 11 dining plan options. We recommend considering whether you plan to eat mainly at on-campus dining halls or prefer more flexibility in your dining options. It's also important to keep in mind that meal plans vary in price.

Meal plans range from $1,197 to $3,299 per term. Enrolling in a meal plan means you will be signing up for an entire year.
