Texas Helmet Color

Across three new helmets, the Houston Texans take their look to the next level. The Deep Steel Blue helmet is candy paint. The Texans are debuting their new alternate uniforms named "Battle Red," which is include a primarily red helmet, jersey, and pants.

The Houston Texans unveiled their new uniforms on Tuesday morning, including four distinctly different designs intended to satisfy every corner of the fanbase. Its helmet is also a Deep Steel blue color with blue-on-blue metallic flake paint. A traditional bull logo is on its sides, with a new "H" logo on the back.

For the first time in franchise history, the Houston Texans will wear a helmet that's not blue. The franchise has existed since 2002 and in the 20 seasons since then, the Texans have worn a blue. For the first time in franchise history, the Texans will wear their battle red helmets with the color rush uniforms, which are deep steel blue with red numbers and red striping down the side of.

The Houston Texans will don their final new look from their 2024 redesign on Sunday night against the Detroit Lions at NRG Stadium. The bright red helmet, jersey and pants are the last of four new. The dark-orange color remained in use until part-way though the Great Depression in the 1930s, when the dye became too expensive.
