LitLog — Privacy Policy

LitLog is operated by The Kidspired Creations LLC, a Texas limited liability company.

1. Information We Collect

• Parent or adult account email address
• Child nickname, age range or grade
• Reading activity and engagement data
• Device and diagnostic information
• Optional school or class identifiers

2. Camera Permission (Barcode Scanning Only)

LitLog requests access to the device camera solely to allow users to scan a book’s barcode in order to identify book details (such as title, author, ISBN).

• The camera is NOT used for recording video.
• No photos are stored.
• No camera data is retained.
• The camera is activated only when the user initiates barcode scanning.

3. Microphone Permission (Reading Verification Only)

LitLog requests microphone access only for authenticated reading sessions to support read-aloud verification.

• Audio is processed temporarily to verify reading activity.
• Audio is NOT stored permanently.
• Audio is NOT used for surveillance.
• Audio is NOT shared with third parties for advertising.
• Audio is not used for high-stakes decision making.

4. Notifications

LitLog may send notifications to remind users about reading goals, inform about achievements or rewards, and provide important account updates.

5. Location Information

LitLog may use general location information (such as country or region derived from IP address) to provide regionally relevant content, improve server performance, and support compliance with local laws.

LitLog does NOT collect precise GPS location data.

6. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

LitLog complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We collect personal information from children under 13 only with verifiable parental consent or where permitted by law for educational institutions.

7. Data Sharing

We may share information only with parents, schools (if applicable), service providers assisting with app operations, or legal authorities if required by law.

We do NOT sell children’s personal information or use children’s data for behavioral advertising.

8. Security

We implement administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information. No system can guarantee absolute security.

9. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
