Shortcut To Rotate Screen
I'd like to be able to quickly switch from one orientation to another on the fly, without having to go through the trouble of accessing the screen rotation features of the operating system. How do I set up a hotkey or shortcut to quickly switch the orientation of my monitor? I notice that Intel Graphics in Control Panel has Ctrl+Alt+Up to rotate to 0 degrees.
I used have Global Hotkeys on Winamp and that also happens to be volume up. You might run into the hot key being activated with new updates of Intel Graphics (e.g. Windows Update).
In windows I can change screen orientation by Ctrl+Alt+[Arrow]. Is there such a shortcut in Ubuntu or how to define one? I have my screen in a manner that it is very easy to rotate, which is very practical to read.
I used to use this hotkey combination in the past, but it seems that it is not working anymore. I know... I want to rotate a monitor 90 degrees, but the usual Ctrl + Alt + Arrow command isn't working.
Where is the menu to enable that? Monitor: HP L2245wg Graphics card: NVIDIA Quadro NVS 285 I actually already have the monitor rotated, but I would like to use the keystrokes in the future rather than digging through eight windows. 0 To rotate the screen when reading a PDF or word file, simply hold control and right click the mouse. You can rotate the screen, and your mouse, etc.
still runs the same, so you won't get disoriented. I'd like to disable ctrl + alt +arrow keys changing the screen orientation. I've seen here that this is a function of the Intel graphics driver.
So I followed the directions and disabled hotkeys in the Intel graphics card control panel, but the hotkeys are still enabled. Might there be some other program controlling this? I'm running a Lenovo T420. If you have an Intel video card (most likely with new Intel processors), hitting Ctrl + Alt + an arrow key triggered the screen rotation.
Try hitting Ctrl + Alt + down arrow to restore the default. In Intel video settings you can change the shortcut or disable altogether, as shown on my screenshot. I opened this media control panel by double clicking on the system tray icon.
Whenever I click Alt + Arrow up / Arrow down my screen will do an unwanted flip. I'd like to disable this shortcut behaviour. I've already looked at Super User question How to stop my laptop's screen from rotating when I press Alt + Arrow?.
But Ctrl + Alt + F12 doesn't start any menu for me. How can I fix this problem? I have an Nvidia graphic card, 2100M, and Windows 7 on a Toshiba computer. Most mobile devices like tablets or smartphones have an orientation sensor that signals the OS to rotate itself when the device is rotated.
But having installed Windows 8 on a desktop (or virtual machine), how do I rotate the screen?
