This is the worlds largest ever recorded fish, the Mekong giant catfish, at almost 9 ft long and weighing 646 lbs. The fish is found in the waters of Southeast Asia's Mekong River, mainly near Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam. The population of these fish have dropped by 95 percent in the past century, now being on the brink of distinction. Research suggests that there may only be a few hundred adults left.
