Rent is already expensive enough. Adding a 3% “convenience fee” for the convenience of paying you is ridiculous. On a $3,400 monthly rent payment, that’s another $102 just to click a button. That adds up to $1,224 a year for the privilege of sending someone money they were already expecting. At that point, I’m buying a book of stamps, dusting off the checkbook, and writing “convenience fee avoided” in the memo line.
