East Tennessee Hospital for the Insane aka Lyon’s View, Eastern State Hospital, Eastern Psychiatric Hospital, Lakeshore Mental Hospital Knoxville, TN Opened 1886, Closed 2012, Mostly Demolished - Repurposed as a Park Kirkbride Design Originally consisted of nine buildings including - administration building (preserved), chapel, kitchen, laundry, boiler room, and engine house. 1960s peak occupancy - 2,800 patients.
