Amazon Highlights This Week
Alexia went on a doll ordering spree and mass ordered doll houses after a newscast aired about a child in Texas who placed an order when she asked “Alexa, can you play dollhouse with me and get me a dollhouse?”

Another GO grocery store is opening in Seattle and one in the United Kingdom. Amazon opened its first grocery store on December 5th near its headquarters in Seattle. Amazon staff can only shop there now, but it will open to the public early in 2018.

Amazon is muscling in on gym clothes and athleisure with their house brand. Amazon posted a trio of job listings in late December for brand managers and senior brand managers working on “Amazon Active Apparel.”

Amazon may buy bankrupt retailer American Apparel. Any successful bid would have to top a $66 million stalking horse bid by Canadian apparel maker Gildan Activewear Inc, which American Apparel agreed to when it filed for bankruptcy in November.
