Historic Signature Pluto Bath $125 Relax in a private tub and soak in the same mineral spring waters that made this hotel famous in the 1800s. Guests first started frequenting French Lick Springs Hotel to reap the benefits from the famed Pluto Water, and our mineral bath is a tradition of relaxation and restoration that continues today. Four mineral springs tempted visitors to the hotel, where they would take mineral baths and drink of the "healing waters." Sprudel was the last of the springs to be found, as it bubbled up in the middle of French Lick Creek.

While the Pluto Spring water is no longer available for bathing (due to its high lithium content), the resort offers a variety of indoor and outdoor soaking pools with treated mineral water. My husband and I booked mineral baths at the West Baden Spa. We were greeted immediately upon arrival and the receptionist asked if it was our first time there.

As it was, she quickly filled us in on the history of the mineral springs and the baths we had scheduled. We were shown to our respective locker rooms and then to the private bath areas. The locker room has everything you need.

Both offer a full-service spa and multiple treatment options including massages, facials, and nail treatments to both overnight guests and those just stopping by. Be sure to try the signature Pluto Bath, which includes a soak in the world.
