The Rec Room building was previously owned by the Watson Family who sold it to the Parish Council in the 1970's. Following lots of refurbishments, it was opened as a small community hall. Beckingham Gardeners' Club hold their meetings in The Recreation Room, The Green, Beckingham DN10 4NL.
The meetings are held on the 3rd Monday each month and start at 7.30 pm. Visitors are very welcome. Payments: we operate a cashless system; payments must be either electronic/internet or by cheque.
Beckingham. Conditions for Hire of The Recreation Room The recreation room is hired out to individuals and organisations on the understanding that the following conditions are adhered too. These are necessary to ensure that all users are treated fairly and enter as far as possible a safe environment.
1. Enquiries to book the Room is made to the caretaker who will confirm/agree dates and times. A code will.
The Recreation Room may be hired by anyone over the age of 18. However, no parties for the 16 to 21 age group are allowed. For anyone between the ages of 18 and 21 wishing to hire the Rec Room, the Parish Council reserves the right to ask for a guarantor.

The Pinfold, situated behind the Recreation Room was bought, along with some of the surrounding area, by the Parish Council in the 1970's for £200 from Miss Nora Watson, a major benefactor to the village. The Pinfold was demolished c1980's.
