Home Depot Bathroom Renovation Reddit

Anyone ever use Lowe's or Home Depot to do a bathroom or kitchen renovation in your home? How'd it go? Just curious if their pricing, quality of work, etc, was on par with independent contractors. I'm trying not to get burnt by a contractor and am imagining that going with one of those stores would limit my risk. Archived post.

I'm looking to do a quick and easy update of my bathtub with a more modern one and found one at Home Depot and would like to just use their installation services. Has anyone used HD? Hi was your experience and any idea what the cost is for a super small bathroom? Big bathroom remodel needed.

They generally are going to buy the cheap s*** at Home Depot. Structure the deal so you purchase the tile and grout, fixtures, accessories; the GC only provides labor and building materials (drywall, wood studs and blocking, etc.). Home Depot uses their pros do renovating. Have you gone through the referral process? Home Depot doesn't get a kickback but of course the pros are expected to purchase goods at Home Depot. The difference between Home Depot and Lowe's is that 90% of Home Depot sales are from contractors.

Lowe's is mostly Harry homeowner types. The one thing about the price point is that Home Depot will still be around if say, your bathroom floods from an install. If Joes plumbing and Construction does the job and he's gone in a year you're screwed.
