On the team:

We challenged them early in the week on that to be honest with you. They have a great attitude. They know what’s at stake: the chance to win No. 9, ultimately a chance for a 10-win season. It wasn’t pretty, but it was a good win for us on the road.

On playing in the cold:

They don’t want to be labeled in that kind of group. They just want to go play. They’ve been through a lot of adversity. They don’t want to hear about weather. What does weather mean compared to what they’ve been through the last 28 months? I think that maybe this is a new breed and maybe a new mindset that they have. If some of the seniors helped us learn that today, then that’s great.

On having a good game:

I’m pleased with my performance, but there are a couple things we need to work on. I thought it was a good performance by the offensive group. Offensive line did a great job up front. You want to keep running the football. Whenever you’re able to do that, I think it’s a successful day.

On Allen Hurns and his performance:

He’s reliable. You know he did a great job today. He got 1,000 yards [this season]; that’s just a testament to how hard he’s worked in the offseason. He’s consistent and I’m really proud of him. He’s one of those guys that looks at the game differently. He looks at the game at a quarterback stand point. He does a great job at understanding coaches.

On the reverse:

Well the passing out in the end zone was a normal route, just shaking a lot of defenders and great blocks by my teammates. I just saw green grass and took it in there. I guess I was just going to hard and the air went into my mouth; it was just kind of hard.

On scoring two quick TDs:

Coach emphasized that we start fast, but that we actually start angry. So we started fast and angry and it got the job done.
