Foldscopes!
Making small things look big
A bit of deviation from the normal #bellaholicinperu series! On this episode of #bellaholicinperu, Belle goes to a local high school in Chavín, Peru to introduce foldscopes! Who knew, a simple workshop turned out to be a journey on its own.
Wait... what is bellaholic doing in Peru?

Chavín de Huántar is an archeological site located in Chavín, Peru. Constructed around 800 BC, it was a monumental center and was most likely a temple complex with its emphasis on formal and costly architecture. The site is of great archaeological interest, as people in the temple are said to have used psychoactive substances and mental manipulation to maintain power over the Chavín people of that time.
I am here on a 2-month-long project to work on conservation efforts on the site, but as a foldscope enthusiast, I got hold of 30 foldscopes to introduce to the local community here.
