xAPI Snippet Generator for Articulate Rise

The short version

This extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. It has no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no account or sign‑in. Everything it does happens locally in your browser.

What the extension does

The extension adds a panel to the Articulate Rise authoring interface (rise.articulate.com) that helps you build an xAPI (Tin Can API) statement code snippet and copy it to your clipboard, so you can paste it into a Rise “Embed › Code” block. That is its only function.

Information it stores

To save you from re‑typing, the extension remembers the values you enter in the generator form — such as your Learning Record Store (LRS) endpoint URL, authentication details you choose to enter, verb, and activity information.

• This information is stored locally on your own device using the browser's chrome.storage.local API.
• It is never transmitted to the developer or to any third party.
• It stays on your device until you clear it (via the panel's “Reset” button, by removing the extension, or by clearing your browser data).

Because credentials you type are stored locally, treat your device accordingly and use a write‑only / statements‑only LRS credential where possible.

Information it does NOT do

• It makes no network requests of its own — it does not phone home.
• It does not collect analytics, telemetry, or usage statistics.
• It does not read your browsing history or run on any site other than rise.articulate.com.
• It does not require an account, login, or any personal information.

Permissions, briefly

• storage — save your generator settings locally.
• clipboardWrite — copy the generated snippet when you click “Copy”.
• activeTab — open the panel on the Rise tab you're viewing when you click the toolbar button.
• Access to rise.articulate.com — to show the panel inside the Rise editor.

About the snippet you generate

The code snippet this tool produces is your content. When you deploy it in a published course, that course sends xAPI data to the LRS you configured. That data flow is between your course, your learners' browsers, and your LRS — the extension is not involved at run time and receives none of it.
