Lester cast alloy "7 spoke" wheels were a popular aftermarket modification/addition for BMW motorcycles. Lester made front & rear wheels for many types of motorcycles, bicycles, etc. Lester wheels can have problems.
Back in the 80s, we considered Lester wheels a big improvement on airheads. Now, I'm looking at an R90S with Lesters. Does anyone have an opinion on weather they increase, decrease, or have no effect on the resale value?

Aluminum has fantastic shine. Nice black finish with a few very small blemishes from years of storage. Excellent brake drum surface.
Comes complete with bearings cap and all internals. Ready to mount and use! Lester apparently thought their precision work would allow them to assemble these wheels without individual shimming, so some of them need attentiion in this area.
I believe Lester stopped making wheels when sales slowed due to OEM manufacturers building bikes with cast wheels. Set of Lester wheels removed from a 1974 BMW R90/S. Includes the front and rear wheels as seen.
Rear drum surface looks and feels smooth with only light wear. Paint and finish looks good albeit dirty and needing detailed. Probably should visit Airheads site and/or Snobum's site for information on quality problems with Lester wheels.
My personal taste is that Harley-look wheels on a BMW don't look good at all. Dream on as regards "performance" affects. Excellent NOS Lester 7 spoke drum brake mag wheel for use on 70.

These wheels on my r80/7 don't make me happy by any means, but anyone have nice project examples with lesters? Give me some inspiration. How hard is it to get your hands on spoked/wire wheels for a reasonable price?
